The Foley House was originally built in 1896 by Honoria Foley. She was the widow of a wealthy Irish immigrant, Owen Foley. The current Foley House was constructed over the ashes of a home, previously at the same location, which was destroyed in the Great Savannah Fire of 1889. The Inn is situated just to the south of the Independent Presbyterean Church, and overlooks the northwest corner of Chippewa Square on Bull Street.
